Obituary of Mark Oliver

We are heartbroken to announce the passing of Mark, surrounded by his loving family, at ARCH on Saturday, July 30, 2022 at the age of 71. Survived by his loving wife and friend of 50 years, Heather. Cherished father of Erin (Craig Lonsdale), Jocelyn (Trevor Armstrong) and Kevin (Sylvie Langlois). Very proud Grampa of Justin Carter, Melissa Carter (Aaron Fleury), Ryan Oliver, Cole Oliver; Robert Lonsdale, Michael Lonsdale, Emily Armstrong, Skylar Leblanc and Makenzey Leblanc. Brother of Sharon Hill (late Gerry), late Maureen Pyke, late Curtis Oliver, late Faith Currie (late Bill), David Oliver, Susan Lampi (late Gary), Ann Finn (Mike), Mike Oliver (Tina Belleau), late Jon Oliver and Evan Zappacosta. Beloved uncle to his many nieces and nephews.

Mark loved being outdoors, fishing and hunting, but particularly loved being at camp with his family and friends. He enjoyed working with wood, from chopping firewood for camp to making beautiful projects for his family. He was a proud tradesman and worked as a sheetmetal worker for 40 years. Mark will be sadly missed by his family and friends and will be remembered as the “Legend at the Lake”.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Friday, August 5, 2022 from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Funeral Service will be held in the Chapel on Saturday, August 6, 2022 at 10:00 a.m. with Rev. Raymond Knight officiating. A private inurnment will take place at a later date. Memorial donations to ARCH would be greatly appreciated by the family. A heartfelt thank you to the doctors, nurses and staff at the SAH Cancer Clinic, BayShore Home Health Care and ARCH for the care and compassion shown to Mark and his family.
