Obituary of George Darryl Yukich

Please share a memory of George to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.

The family sadly announces the peaceful passing of Bud at the Sault Area Hospital on Wednesday, August 31, 2022 at the age of 84. He was surrounded with love, his favourite music and under the care of the very compassionate nursing staff on 3C. Many thanks to Dr. Fera for helping us navigate through Bud’s journey. Bud was the son of the late Tony Yukich and the late Edythe Stares. Brother of the late Raymond Yukich (Kay), late Brian Yukich (Kim), Bob Stares, Joy Pinter (Steve) and Jayne Scornaienchi (Sam). Caring father of Deidre (Brian Allemekinders), Anthony Fisher, Andres Fisher and Jodi Mancuso Foley (Jeff). He was a special “Bud” to Jared Grogan and family. Grandfather of seven and great grandfather of two, whose photos surrounded him. Bud was loved by his many nieces and nephews.

One of his most endearing traits was making sure to check his birthday book each day and we could always expect a call. He continued this for many years. Bud was always there to give a hand up to whomever needed it and support his favourite organizations and causes. Bud loved to sail. He enjoyed listening to jazz and classical music. He always had an idea for the next great invention! He loved visits from family and special friends and his spirits were lifted each time someone dropped by. We would also like to acknowledge Simon Bernier, Lois Kinghorn, Gerry Greco, Darlene Seimers and Jim Depew for being such special people in his life. He loved you all immensely.

Cremation has taken place and the family will announce a celebration of life at a later date. Memorial contributions to the SAH Foundation or the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).

Although it became more and more difficult in recent years,

Bud’s motto in life was “Carpe Diem
