Obituary of Clifford Roy Freddie Rowlinson
Called home to heaven just after his 79th birthday and the celebration of 50 years of marriage to the love of his life, Mary Anne (Weihers). Reunited in heaven with his loving parents Clifford and Thelma Dorothy Rowlinson (Lendrum). Recently predeceased by his beloved first born daughter Tammy Foxall (Steve) of Arizona. Left with a heart full of amazing memories is his youngest daughter Bobbie-Jo “B.J.” and her husband Jim Ethier of Prince George, BC. Very special Potsy of Kyle Foxall of Arizona. He was a great brother to many: late Marila “Millie”, late Grace, late Michael (Dori) and the late Steven (Lisa) and survived by Wayne (Serena), Sharon (late Gary) and Olga-Ann. Dear brother-in-law of the late Rick Weihers of Beaver Creek, Yukon & Patricia Vesely (Herbert) of Squamish B.C. Skip was the uncle of many special nieces and nephews.
Skip had a long gratifying career with Algoma Steel in the No. 2 BOSP where he had
many friendships, he carried on long after his retirement. Growing up in the Soo and
spending his younger years throughout the Sylvan Valley, Echo Bay and Blind River he
knew the country life was what his heart truly wanted. While the girls were still very
young, he moved his family to Goulais River to live the good life where they lived for
almost 40 years. Hunting, fishing, raising chickens, with abundant gardens and looking
for the big dipper over the hill every night made his heart full.
Being on the lake fishing or talking about fishing is when he was happiest. He spent
countless years at Mateninda, Emerald, Ranger and Rock Lakes camping and where he
shared his love of fishing with so many, especially the little ones he took out to catch their first fish or first quad ride.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, please consider
donations to ARCH or the charity of your choice. We would like to extend our thanks to the caring staff of 3B, Doctors, nurses and especially Dr. Buehner, Dr. Culina and the palliative care team who made these last few weeks possible. To say we appreciate the Angels at ARCH is not enough. Thank you for making these last days as enjoyable as they could be as you spoiled him with patience and kindness (and food!). We also thank everyone who came to celebrate his birthday. Thank you to those who came to visit and spent his last days reminiscing about times past. To the greater church family, thank you for all your prayers, visits, and notes of encouragement. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758). https://northwoodfuneral.com
