Cosimo Notte

Obituary of Cosimo Notte

Our family is heartbroken to announce the peaceful passing of Cosimo, surrounded by his family, on Saturday, October 8, 2022 at ARCH after a short but valiant fight. We know that he was met with open arms by his late wife Brenda (nee Magee) and his parents Costanzo and Giovannina Notte.

Cosimo leaves behind his sons Bradley and Rodney. He was the much loved and adored Buppa of Britton and Easton Notte and their mother, Allison. He was a very special friend to Diane Burnell and her family. Son-in-law of the late Etta and Frank Magee. Cosimo was very much a family man and will be sadly missed by his brothers Mike (Isabele) and Domenic (Wendy) and sisters-in-law Bonnie Fisico and Fay Bumbacco (Jerry). Uncle Cos will be fondly remembered by all of his nieces and nephews Warren Fisico (Kaylynn), Ryan Fisico, Christopher Bumbacco (Tricia), Cindy Cuff (Terry), Andrew Notte (Michelle), Kyle Notte, Aaron Notte (Katey), and Anthony Notte (Katie) and great uncle to many more.

Cosimo was born April 16, 1950 in Macchiagodena, Italy.  When Cosimo was a young boy his family immigrated to Canada and established their roots in Sault Ste. Marie.  As he grew up he gained many skills in construction, carpentry and pipefitting. He was very much sought after for his beautifully exquisite craftsmanship.  Cosimo had a great sense of community and had friends everywhere he went. He was always willing to lend a hand to someone in need. He loved to entertain and hosted many parties/dinners through the years, had coffee dates with friends and attended many events at the Marconi Club. Cosimo was an avid golfer, and bocce player. He especially enjoyed being a hockey fan and loved watching and coaching his sons when they were younger and later in his life reliving those memories as his grandchildren began to play as well. He was their biggest fan and they were truly his greatest joy in life.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Service at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Thursday, October 13, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Mrs. Helen Smith officiating. Inurnment to follow at Greenwood Cemetery - West Section. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate donations to ARCH or the SAH Cancer Care Fund so that our local community can continue to be supported, the same way that Cosimo was.  Cosimo very proudly wore pink in support of breast cancer research and we hope that everyone can add a little splash of pink to their wardrobes this week as you remember him.

The family would like to thank Cosimo's care team; Dr. Pearce, Dr. Buehner, and Dr. Webb. As well as the excellent nurses and support staff, especially Brandi and Susie of Bayshore and Doreen and Michelle from Care Partners, and the wonderful staff at ARCH.

Brad and Rod would like to extend gratitude to the family and friends who were there to support Cosimo during his final days. The acts of selfless care for him will never be forgotten and words cannot truly express how thankful we are.  Also, the community that stepped up to send food, cards and simple heartfelt words to let us know Cosimo and our family were in their prayers as he fought so hard, we are so thankful. Since Cosimo's passing we have received many messages that tell us what an outstanding man he was. How he was such a good friend and that his mentorship and words of wisdom will never be forgotten. We know that Cosimo was truly loved by everyone that knew him and we appreciate hearing all of his stories. We will miss him every day but have comfort in knowing that he is now at peace reunited with Brenda and his parents and he will always be watching over us.
