Obituary of Luigina Rinaldi

A loving wife, mother and Nonna went peacefully, with her family by her side, to her heavenly home on Wednesday, October 5, 2022. She is now reunited with her beloved husband, Marcello (2008). Loving and caring mother of Benito (Jennifer) and Paola Grossi (Egidio). Very proud Nonna of Michael (Amy), Christina, Daniela and Stephanie. Great grandmother of Sofia, Luke, Jake, Gabriela and Parker. She was born in Patrica, Italy on June 21, 1933 to Angelo and Maria Paliani (predeceased). She leaves behind to cherish her memory two sisters Adriana Finateri (late Duilio) and Mirella Finateri (Guido). Daughter-in-law of the late Giuseppe and the late Perlina Rinaldi. Sister-in-law of Rita and America of Italy. Predeceased by her sisters-in-law Valma, Maria, Luigina, brothers-in-law Giovanni, Lorenze and Silvano all of Italy. She will be missed by her many nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family.

In 1967 with her husband and children, Luigina immigrated to Canada. She was very proud of her Italian heritage and was an amazing cook and baker. She loved sharing her homemade meals and baked goods with family, friends and neighbours. Luigina was a kind, loving, compassionate, giving and caring woman who always put others first. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Friday, October 14, 2022 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. Funeral Mass to be held at St. Gregory’s Church on Saturday, October 15, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Trevor Scarfone officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the St. Gregory’s Church Building Fund would be greatly appreciated.
