Obituary of Mary Edna Lundhild

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of Mary on Thursday, October 13, 2022, at the Sault Area Hospital. Mary was born in Oba, Ontario on February 22, 1935, to Noel and Stella (née Charlebois).

Mary is predeceased by her husband Viggo, daughter Patricia Marquis and grandson Martin Marquis. Mary will be greatly missed by daughter Cathy Denomme (Jean-Guy), son Viggo Lundhild (Sonia), and son-in-law Charles Marquis. She was the beloved “Grannie” to Torv Denomme, Daneen Denomme (Lucas Schmiedendorf), Céline Elise Marquis (Torben Giesselmann), Isaac Lundhild, Avery Lundhild (Charles Scavone) and the best “GG” to Kai, Rielle, and Charlie.

Mary's fierce love for family and friends was legendary and her generous spirit not easily forgotten. Her admirable no-nonsense approach to life allowed her to source joy from the little things. A sunny day, fall colours, a boat ride on the lake, or visits with loved ones gave her the greatest joy. Those who were lucky enough to have a taste will forever remember her delicious baked treats and the love that came in every bite.

As per her wishes, no service will be held. Memorial donations to the SAH Woman and Children’s Health Care Fund would be appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758).
