Obituary of Matthew Scott Ableson
It is with deep sadness and devastated hearts that we announce the passing of Matthew on Monday, October 17, 2022 at the age of 28. Beloved son of Pamela and the late Robert Ableson. Adored brother of Mackenzie (Kiya). Loving father of Aiden. Dearest grandson of Tom and the late Colleen Ableson and the late Vernon and Florence McLean. Cherished nephew of Eric Ableson (Terry) and Dan Ableson (Anita), Garth McLean (Arlene), Deborah Devoe (Tom), the late Darrell McLean, Kim Summers (late Cliff) and the late Blayne McLean. He will be dearly missed by his extended family and many friends.
From a very early age, Matthew’s passion was fishing with his dad, and his love for hockey. He loved spending quality time with his brother who had the same passions for fishing and hockey as well as his son Aiden, following their footsteps. Many treasured memories were made by them together at Carpenter Lake. At the end of the day, they looked forward to the bonfire and family time. Matthew also enjoyed four wheeling. On all holidays, Matthew took pride and his time in choosing the perfect card and gift for everyone he loved. He especially enjoyed coming home to home cooked meals and his mom's baking, her chocolate chip cookies were his favourite. He took great pride in his graduation from the Welding and Manufacturing course. Matthew worked at Brookfield Heliene, Tenaris and Algoma Steel By Products Department in Coke Making. Everyone that met Matthew, will remember his laugh, his smile and his big hugs. He was an incredible young man with goals and dreams and loved life. The loss of Matthew will leave a deep impact for many people. Matthew is now reunited with his dad and they are fishing together once again.
Cremation and a private family service has taken place. Memorial donations to ARCH would be greatly appreciated in Matthew’s memory.
