Predeceased by; her brothers Dave (Rena and Barb) and Doug (Joanne); brothers-in-law Walter (Sylvia) and Ernie McKelvie; and sister-in-law Ailene Shabatura (Carl).  Irene will be missed dearly by her many nieces, nephews, and special lifelong friends in Fort Frances and Sault Ste. Marie.

Using her incredible talent as a seamstress, Irene has gifted so many with beautiful wedding dresses, prom dresses, as well as dance and skating costumes from Fort Frances to the Soo. Many will continue to remember and cherish the special hand-crafted holiday decorations that Irene created with love and care. Mom loved spending summers at The Point with her young children instilling a love of swimming that still exists within us all to this day. She was an incredibly dedicated fan at skating, dance and cheer competitions, as well as at hockey, football and soccer games supporting her kids, grandkids and even great grandkids continuing on well into her nineties.  Gram was so easy to love, her positive attitude was contagious, and she possessed a gift in always seeing the best in people. After every visit, we always left with a smile in our hearts. She was the type of person we strive to be; she was truly an angel on earth who now has her wings. The impact she has left will carry through generations to come.  She effortlessly set an example and taught all generations of her family, the true meaning of love, respect and empathy; she truly was one of a kind. Sending you loads of love on your final journey.
