Obituary of Brian Arbour

It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Brian at the age of 76, at St. Michael’s in Toronto on Monday, November 21, 2022, with his family by his side. Brian was the devoted husband and best friend to Ann for over 45 years, and loving father to Kristine Howard (James) and Greg Arbour (Jennifer). Proud and adoring Grandpa and Papa to Ben, Lily, Charles, Thomas and Brock Howard, and Ty and Malia Arbour. Loyal and caring son of the late Floris and the late Doug Arbour, and son-in-law to the late Aldo and the late Eva Greganti.  Reunited with his deceased siblings, Joan Fazi (Frank) and Paul Arbour (Kay). Brother-in-law of Patty Clark (Jack). Brian will be missed by his many extended family members, special friends and his two nieces Mercedes Clark and MaryAnne Welch (Jason).

Brian’s love for his family and empathy for others will never be forgotten. His quiet and kind demeanor will be remembered by many, as well as his passion for food (cooked by Ann), music, sports and long walks. Nothing brought him greater joy then his grandchildren, and he was often seen adoringly watching them from his chair with a big smile on his face.

Brian’s resiliency and ability to defy the odds were a true testament of his toughness and determination.

A private family service will be held.  In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial donations to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation as Brian was a strong advocate for supporting our local health care needs. 

Thank you to the many doctors and nurses who looked after him over the years. A special thank you to Dr. Fritz who provided care for over 20 years. The family also wants to acknowledge the ICU and Cardiac Unit staff of St. Michael’s for their care of Brian. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
