Obituary of Doreen Elsie McLean
Peacefully fell asleep in death on Saturday, January 28, 2023 at Extendicare Maple View in her 96th year. Her hope and faith in the Bible’s promise of a resurrection to a paradise earth remained strong. (John 5:28, 29)
Doreen grew up in Dayton and Echo Bay, Ontario. Later in life she spent much of her time at her camp on Patten Lake, built by her beloved late husband Donald Lynn McLean. There she enjoyed swimming as soon as the ice was out. When she wasn’t swimming, she loved to knit for her family and friends.
She will lovingly be remembered by her four children, Kim (late Sandy), Kerry (Shelley), Lynda (Gaston Roy) and Paul (Beverly). Her love for her camp was passed on to her seventeen grandchildren, Heidi, Jeffrey, Heather, Taylor, Tyler, Jordan, Amber, Kale, Kaytlan, Loralei, Melanie, Natalie, Myles, Sarah, Paul-Andre, Jennifer, Trevor and Nathan. She was also a great-grandma to 21 great-grandchildren. Doreen is predeceased by her sister Marjorie Burns Smith, special sister Fay Meredith (Archie) and parents John (Jack) and Elsie Cameron nee Goodmurphy.
At Doreen’s request, no services will be held. Memorial donations to Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society of Canada would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
