Obituary of Joyce Mary Fera

We are deeply saddened to announce the peaceful passing of Joyce on Saturday, March 11, 2023 at the Sault Area Hospital, following a brief illness. Predeceased by her beloved husband, Alfred Fera. Joyce is survived by her beloved children, John Fera (Judi) and Judy Fratesi (Joe), her loving grandchildren, Andrea Fratesi Sicoli (Dan), Krista Fratesi Williams (Ben), Lisa Fratesi Coccimiglio (Carmen), Melissa Fera Chater (Chris) and Jeffrey Fera (Jennifer). She will be missed by her great grandchildren, Evan and Aidan Sicoli, Cooper and Reese Williams, Logan, Cameron and Carly Coccimiglio, Dylan and Beckett Chater, and Hannah and James Fera. Sister of Jerry Johnson (late Ina). She will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

Joyce, who was born in Sheffield, England on August 10, 1931 is predeceased by her late parents, William and Hilda Johnson and her brother, Jack Johnson (Jean) as well as her many brothers and sisters-in-law in the Fera family.

A private family service has been held and entombment has taken place beside her husband, Alfred, in the mausoleum at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Donations to the charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks go out to the many caregivers at Sault Area Hospital who looked after Joyce during her recent stays. A heartfelt thank you to Tracey and all the folks at Pathways Retirement Home for the care, compassion and dignity they offered during her short stay with them. Lastly, we want to acknowledge, with sincere thanks, Randy Sorokopud, her next-door neighbour on Village Court, who was always so helpful whenever needed.
