Obituary of Ada Rovito

Peacefully passed away with her family by her side at the Sault Area Hospital on Monday, April 3, 2023 at the age of 90. Beloved wife of the late Luigi. Dear mother and friend of Rosina Sdao (Luigi). Cherished Nonna of Francesco (Crystal Rooney), Ippolito (Sheryl) and Bisnonna of Sophia Elizabeth and Julianna Elise Sdao. Daughter of the late Domenico and the late Anna Spadafora. Sister of the late Emelia Perna, late Francesco, late Silvio (Assunta) and Dora Occhiuto (Aldo) all of Italy and the late Mario (Francesca), Giuseppe (Angela), Vincenzo (Ilda), Franco (Fiorina) all of Sault Ste. Marie. Daughter-in-law of the late Pietro and Rosina Rovito. Sister-in-law of the late Mario (Ida) of Italy and the late Ippolito (Delia), Franco (Ida), late Vittorio (Natalina) and Giovanni (Mirella) all of Toronto. Ada will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews and extended family.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758) on Wednesday, April 12, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Funeral Mass to be held at St. Gregory’s Church at 12:00 noon with Father Trevor Scarfone officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation or St. Gregory’s Church would be greatly appreciated by the family.

A heartfelt thank you to the staff and management at the Great Northern Retirement Home, her family doctor Mark Jenkins and all of the medical and nursing staff at the Sault Area Hospital for the care, compassion and empathy towards Ada. You are all true angels.
