Obituary of Teresa Cimino

It is with great sadness that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved mother Teresa, with her family by her side, at the FJ Davey Home on Sunday, April 30, 2023 in her 90th year. She is now reunited with her loving husband of over 54 years, Pasquale. Cherished mother of Natale (Vicki), Pina Lauricella (Diego), Gino (Dina), Joe (Judy) and late Nicola. Proud and loving Nanna of Jordan, Nicholas and Julia Cimino, Jonathan, Michael and late Christopher Lauricella, Eric, Andrea, Alexander, Anthony and Laura Cimino, Matthew and Teresa Cimino. Special Bisnanna of Trey Obarymskyj and Zeniya Kelly.  Predeceased by her parents Eugenio and Rosaria (nee Coccimiglio) Santoro of Cleto, Italy. Daughter-in-law of the late Natale and the late Giuseppina (nee Curcio) of San Mango D’Aquino, Italy.  Predeceased by her 7 loving Santoro siblings Antonio (late Emilia), Giuseppe (late Iola), Michele (late Gilda), Salvatore (Luisa), Michelina Adamo (late Eugenio), Emilia Santoro, and Ottavio (Maria). Sister-in-law of Carmella Aiello (late Angelo), Nicola (late Serafina) Cimino, late Giovanni (Felice) Cimino, and Natale (Anita) Cimino. Teresa will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, family, friends and neighbours.

Teresa was born in Aiello Calabro, Italy.  Bravely, she immigrated to Canada in 1962 with her husband to give her family a better life. She was happiest when surrounded by family and friends. She reminded us that sometimes the greatest joys can be found in the company of loved ones, sharing a home-cooked meal, and enjoying the simple moments of everyday life. Her unwavering, generous, and loving presence in our lives was truly a gift and she will be deeply missed by all who loved her. She took pleasure in gardening, conversing with friends, sharing recipes and her Sunday Zoom family meetings. She was deeply devoted to her family, her Catholic faith and creating a welcoming environment wherever she resided. She was the embodiment of unconditional love and faced life with determination, courage and had a zest for life.
