Obituary of Henry Eugene Tregonning
A lifelong resident of Bruce Mines, Ontario. Henry passed away peacefully, with his wife by his side, on Friday, May 5, 2023 in his 76th year. Loving husband of Francine. Cherished father of Rob (Shannon), Kim Gibbons (John) and step-father of Alain Labelle (Frieda) and Eric Labelle (Tammy). Special grandfather of Mackenzie Vincent (Abril). Papa of 12 grandchildren and one great grandchild. Predeceased by his parents John and Eleanor Tregonning. Henry was a lot to many, but he took pride in being a big brother. He leaves behind his siblings Pam Orto (late Les), Dan Tregonning (Melanie), Gail Burch (Bill) and is predeceased by his brother Walter. Brother-in-law of Danielle Parker (Warren). He was a wonderful uncle to his many nieces and nephews and was a loving nephew to his many aunts and uncles.
Henry was a man of many wise words, and a jack of all trades. There wasn’t a project he couldn’t accomplish. If you needed anything done, he was the type of guy to drop what he was doing to help you. He wasn’t afraid of a good challenge. Henry’s love was the outdoors – whether it was hunting or fishing! He enjoyed his many fly-in fishing trips and his deep-sea fishing adventures. Most of all – Henry’s favourite past time was spending quality time with his friends and family. He made you feel important when you were with him. Henry left a lasting impression on everyone he met, whether it was his quirky smile, a friendly handshake, or his contagious laugh. He was not just an amazing person to his family and friends, he was genuinely like that to everyone he met, and he even remembered you! If you were lucky enough to have met Henry during his life, you know exactly what we mean.
Friends and family are invited to a Celebration of Life to celebrate Henry’s life at the Lighthouse Lounge in Bruce Mines, Ontario on Sunday, May 28, 2023 from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Memorial donations to the SAH Cancer Care Fund or Cystic Fibrosis Canada would be greatly appreciated by the family.
We would like to thank Amy, who was Henry’s home care nurse. As well as those on 3C at the Sault Area Hospital, who took such great care of him during his stay. A BIG thank you to all the family and friends who have supported us during this difficult time. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
