Obituary of Thomas Oldfield

It is with great sorrow that we announce the passing of Tom at the age of 74 years. He went peacefully surrounded by his family at the Sault Area Hospital. He was a loving and devoted husband, father and grandfather. Husband and best friend of Janice, for 45 years. Father of Rhonda (Marc), Darryl (Ursula), Jodi (Glen), Crystal (Miles), Jamie, Tommy (Leslie) and predeceased by Denis (Solange). Proud grandfather of Carla, Tyler, Haylie, Letitia, Christopher, Devon, Brandyn, Trinity, Daryl-lynn, Drake, Amelia, Celeste and Guiliana. Predeceased by his grandson Troy and his granddaughter, Amber. He will be missed by his many great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Lyall and Millie. Brother of Cameron (Carol), George (Dawn) and predeceased by his sister Mary-Louise.

He served in the Navy in his early years and went on to drive transport trucks, his last being with Bison. Tom won many awards for his impeccable driving record. He was a hard worker and a very kind-hearted person. He loved his fur baby, Bailey.

At Tom’s request, no services will be held. Memorial donations to the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society would be appreciated by the family. We would like to thank Dr. Curran and the ICU staff at the SAH for their love and support during this difficult time.
