Obituary of Pauline Van Hoek

It is with great sadness that our family announces the unexpected passing of Pauline, at the age of 71. Predeceased by her loving husband Norman and parents Ralph and Shirley Aikens. Beloved mother of Jeremy (Jenna). Cherished Mummo of Cole and Cain, some of her greatest moments have been spent with her grandsons. Oldest sister of Colleen (John), Ken (Linda), Keith and Kevin (Sue). Will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews as well as friends who became family. Holding many fond memories with her dear friend Cathy Bjerkelund.

Pauline always made you feel comfortable and brought humour to every situation. Compassionate and caring you always left looking forward to the next visit with Pauline. She loved to spend time in nature, her garden and with her furry companions.

A private celebration of Pauline’s life will be held in the near future. In Pauline’s memory we ask you make a donation to the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society remembering all the birds, squirrels, chipmunks and even beavers Pauline rescued over the years. 

Special thanks to Sault Ste. Marie Paramedics, Sault Ste. Marie Fire Service, SAH and Raven for their quick and caring response. Also, much gratitude for family and friends for their love and support during this time.
