Obituary of Verdun Venn Jr.

With heartfelt sorrow, we regret to announce the passing of Verdun, in the comfort of his home, on Monday, July 17, 2023. Beloved son of Mary and the late Verdun Sr. Cherished brother and best friend of Vincent. Sorely missed by his fur baby Purrnelope.

Verdun was a locomotive engineer with the ACR, Wisconsin Central and CNR for many years before he retired.

Family, friends and co-workers, whom Verdun considered family while away from home, are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Friday, July 21, 2023 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon. As per Verdun’s wishes, no formal service will be held. Cremation to follow. If so desired, memorial donations to the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) or the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be greatly appreciated.
