Obituary of Ila Porter

Passed away peacefully on Wednesday, July 12, 2023 in her 105th year at the Sault and Area Hospital.  Beloved wife of the late Stanley Porter. She will be greatly missed by her children: Dale Porter (Jean) and Marlene Porter, her grandchildren: Michael (Ursula), Errett (Judy), Rob (Barb),Terry (Curt), Lauri (Morten), Heather, Leanne (Dale), Sylvia (Ken), Ian (Marsha), her great-grandchildren: Ashleigh (Kevin), Ila (Eric), Ben (Ali), Katelyn, Mitchell (Brianna), Katy (Nate), Kimberly (Jamie), Kiley (Cory), Kelsey, Sherry, Crysta, James (Blair), Dan (Laura), Johnny, Patrick, Oliver, Jessica, Sara (Owen), Emily, Timothy (Augustina), Daniel, Hannah (David), Jessica (Thiago), Luke (Maddie), her great, great-grandchildren: Tate, Emma, Caleb, Michael, Hailey, Aiden, Damien, Kian, Caylee, Aubree, Noah, Charlie, Tatum, Rue, and her nieces: Leanne (Garth), Judy (John), Jeri-Lee (Brian), and Justine. She was the only daughter of the late Frank and Gertrude Dwyer and predeceased by her brothers Russell and Charlie.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Wednesday, July 19, 2023 from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Memorial Service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Mrs. Helen Smith officiating. Inurnment at Greenwood Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Willowgrove United Church would be greatly appreciated.  Heartfelt thanks to the nurses and doctors who cared for Ila and her family at the Sault and Area Hospital and from Home and Community Care Support Services North East.
