Marisa passed away peacefully at home, with her family by her side, on Friday, August 18, 2023 at the age of 91. She is now reunited with her dearly loved husband, Umberto. She will be sadly missed by her children Franco (Angela) of St. Paul, Minnesota and Lucia of Sault Ste. Marie, Ontario. Cherished nonna of Nicholas and Marisa.  Daughter of the late Federico and Margherita Coltré of Italy. Sister of the late Stefanina Vendetta (Armando), late Tina Bencivegna (Vittorio), late Pina Decinti (Filippo), Ines Collepardi (Armando), late Paolo Coltré (Cesarina), and Rinaldo Coltré (Elvira), all from Italy. Sister-in-law of the late Concetta Finateri (Giulio) and the late Liliana Gasperin (Giovanni). Cherished aunt of her many nieces and nephews here in the Sault, in Italy, and in Switzerland. Marisa will also be greatly missed by her best friend, Mary Pirillo, with whom she shared many years of good memories, walks, and enjoyable trips together.

Marisa had an immeasurable love for her family and was extremely proud of them. She was the best cook and loved to spoil everyone with her homemade pasta, gnocchi, sauce, and pizza, to name just a few.  Her culinary legacy continues to live on as she passed her recipes and skills to her children and grandchildren. She was a professional seamstress for over 50 years and could out-stitch anyone. She loved to stay active and played bocce in several ladies’ leagues, was a member of the Elettra Ladies Society, as well as the Calabrese Club and the Calabrese Choir.  She was also a devoted member of St. Gerard Majella Parish and served as a eucharistic minister and greeter for many years.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Friday, August 25 from 10:00 a.m. until 12:30 p.m. Funeral Mass to follow at St. Gerard Majella Church at 1:00 p.m. with Father Alex Saurianthadathil officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Sault Area Hospital Foundation would be greatly appreciated by the family.

The family would like to express their deepest gratitude to all of the health professionals who provided excellent care to Marisa especially in her final hours, notably, Nurse Cindy and Nurse Nina, PSW Trisha, Dr. Buehner and Dr. Spadafora, and NP Carrie Perra.
