Obituary of Alfredo Coccimiglio

It’s with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Alfredo on Monday, August 21, 2023 at the age of 85. Loving and devoted husband of the late Ida (Zagordo) for fifty years. Loving and supportive father of Anthony (Stephanie) and Christina George (Devon). Very proud Nonno and the hero of Thomas and Calissa. Alfredo loved spending time with his grandchildren and loved sharing stories of his past.

The second oldest of nine children, no one could deny that family meant everything to him. Caring brother of Maria Coccimiglio (Joe), Eugenia Reda (late Frank), Fiorenzo Coccimiglio (Maria), Pina Caputo (Nick), Orlino Coccimiglio (Johanne), Franca Byron (Lance), Julia Ginley (Mike) and Lou Coccimiglio (Suzanne). Brother-in-law of the late Eugenio Zagordo (Ada), Michaele Zagordo (Nina), Emma Chiarello (Angelo) and Ada Zagordo. Leaving behind to mourn this great loss are Rosa Falsetti (Salvatore) and Emelia Caruso (Geniale), of both Italy, Tony Zagordo (Rosina) and Settimio Zagordo (Ida) of Sault Ste. Marie. He was a charismatic Uncle who loved to share his wisdom with his many nieces and nephews. Alfredo never distinguished between friends and family as they all shared a special place in his heart. He loved nothing more than spending time with those he loved.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Monday, August 28, 2023 from 9:30 a.m. until 11:30 a.m. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. To honor his caring life, in lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) would be greatly appreciated by the family.
