Obituary of Gunther Jobst

On Saturday August 26, 2023 at the age of 86 Opa passed away peacefully surrounded by the love of his family. Husband of Catherine (nee Stutt). Much loved Dad of Heidi, Mark (Lynn), Lisa (Godfrey). Opa’s grandchildren and great grandchildren held a special place in his heart: Jason Case and Sharna, Hailey Case, late Rebecca Jobst, Rachel and Jesse Moxam (Sawyer, Ivy, Solomon, Mason and Nate), Mark Jobst, Emma Deschenes and Cooper, Celia Deschenes and Noah. Predeceased by his parents Karl and Anna Jobst of Riel, Germany. Brother of the late Kuni Brohl (late Franz), late Kurt (late Erika), late Alwin (late Gisela), late Maria Brisch (late Josef), late Heinz (late Anni), Hans (Matilda), late Horst (Elisabeth), Hermann (Helga) and the late Alphonse. Son-in-law of the late Jack and Mary Stutt. Brother-in-law of John Stutt (Sharon) and the late Debbie Habermas (Rich). Uncle Gunther will be fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. He will be missed by his cherished companion, his fur baby Penny. 

Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Thursday, August 31, 2023 from 9:00 a.m. until 10:30 a.m. Funeral Mass to be held at St. Jerome’s Church at 11:00 a.m. with Father Alex Saurianthadathil officiating. Interment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) or St. Jerome's Church would be greatly appreciated by the family.
