Dagney Desjardins

Obituary of Dagney Desjardins

Affectionately known as "Aunt Dag" to many, passed away in her 100th year at the Algoma Manor in Thessalon on Saturday, September 2, 2023. Wife of the late Joseph. Daughter of the late Herman and Hilma (nee Sundholm) Skoog. Sister of the late George Skoog and Violet Carson. Sister-in-law of the late Aime and Pat Desjardins. Aunt Dag will be fondly remembered by her many nieces and nephews.

Dag was a kind and gentle lady with a smile that could light up a room and you always came away with a full heart after visiting with her. A dedicated wife, she earned her drivers licence at age 65 so she could drive to the hospital to be with Joe every day, all the while knitting and crocheting endless baby outfits which she donated to the gift shop there.

A private family funeral will be held. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Thank you to the Algoma Manor staff for your compassionate care over the last 10 years. We will miss our "dearie duck". Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
