Obituary of Robert Oliver

Peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital on Thursday, September 14, 2023 at the age of 92. Cherished husband of Lois (Andrews) and fondly remembered by her family. Beloved husband of the late Jean (Beilhartz). Devoted father of John Maur and Cathy Bell (Brian). Proud Grandpa, Great Grandpa, Uncle and Great Uncle Bob of many.

Stories of Bob will circulate for generations at Skookum Lake where he spent much time for over 60 years. He was also a proud member of the Sault Ste. Marie Police Service for 32 years and retired as a Detective Sergeant after which he enjoyed 34 years of retirement. A master story-teller he loved talking of his time as an officer and truly served his community with dedication and distinction.

Special thank you to the staff at Collegiate Heights for their care over the past year and also appreciation to all of the members of 3B at Sault Area Hospital for their patience and compassion during the past few very difficult weeks. Thank you to Palliative Care Doctors Booth and Sharp for their understanding and quiet wisdom.

A private family graveside service was held at Cloudslee Cemetery with Pastor Dan Gabor officiating. Memorial donations to the Sault Area Hospital Complex Continuing Care Fund or the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) would be greatly appreciated.
