Obituary of André John Rausch
Tragically, in his 59th year, our beloved brother, father, and friend. Predeceased by parents Anneliese and Günther. Sorely missed by heartbroken children Avery (Michaela) and Storm (Tyren), along with their mothers, Carla Rausch and Lynn Rausch. Remembered by his sisters Sylvia (Mark Nott) and Helga (Stafford), cousins in Germany, nieces and nephews, and the countless friends who loved him. Missed most of all by Blitz, who can't understand why Dad isn't coming home.
André lived and loved large. Family was his greatest joy, except whenever the Leafs made the playoffs, though even then, his mama ruled his heart. A day rarely went by when she did not hear from him. He was proud of and fiercely protective of Avery and Storm. He was also passionate about hockey, certain botanical remedies, and Pink Floyd. He had just mastered Mutti's Manderolle recipe and was beginning to develop his talents as a photographer, although his golf game was still a work in progress. His relationships were good. He was living his best life. The gap his loss leaves in our hearts can never be filled.
A private interment of ashes with family will take place at Greenwood Cemetery. All are invited to a celebration of Andre's life to be held at the South Ballroom Quattro Hotel and Conference Centre (229 Great Northern Road), starting at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 13, 2024. Please wear Pink Floyd or your favourite band's t-shirt. In lieu of flowers, those wishing to honour André are invited to donate to Second Chances Animal Rescue (Sault Ste. Marie on Facebook), or a charity of choice. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
Shine on you crazy diamond.
