Obituary of Brenda Dixon
Passed away peacefully in her home with family on Sunday, January 21, 2024, after a long and courageous health battle, she was 68. Brenda was the beloved wife and best friend of Joe for more than 45 years, the proud and loving mother of Christopher (Sunny) and Jonathon (Erin) and cherished Nana of Kit, Aura, Owen, Vonn and Alice. They will always remember her as a kind and generous person who loved them to the moon and back.
She is predeceased by her mother Alice Mann (nee Skouris) and her late siblings Kenny Wynne and Geraldine ‘Gerri’ Thorburn (Steve). She is survived by her siblings Margaret Marinich (Joe), Dan Wynne (Glenna), Gary Wynne (Christine), Doug Mann (Theresa), Peter Mann, and Carol O’Donnell as well as her many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. They will fondly remember her as a fierce and loyal sister, aunty, and friend.
Brenda was a devoted homemaker and held several jobs over the years. She returned to school later in life proudly graduating with honours from Sault College in 1997. Throughout her life she was an avid birder, crafter, and tole painter. In her later years she enjoyed the peaceful tranquility of her home in Red Rock, on the north shore of Lake Superior.
As per Brenda’s direction, there will be no service. She will be remembered and celebrated at a small private family commemoration in the summer. Memorial donations to the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) or the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family. A special thank you to Dr. Michael Keating and Bayshore Nursing staff for the care given to Brenda.
