Obituary of Alan McMullin
It is with broken hearts that we announce the passing of Alan after a battle with Alzheimer’s at the Algoma Manor, with his wife and children by his side, on Saturday, February 3, 2024 at the age of 87 years.
Loving husband of Annis. Dear father of Shelley Myers (Allan), Michael McMullin (Kristi) and Gayle McMullin (late Tracy Cresswell) (Gwen). Devoted and much-loved Papa of Stephanie McMullin, Amanda McMullin, Justin Grall (Christina), Corey Myers (Jasmine), Jessica Myers, Emma McMullin and Grace McMullin. Great Papa of Deklan, Madden, Conway and a new bundle in pink soon to arrive. Son of the late Hugh and the late Eleanor McMullin. He is survived by his sister Rosemary Pinnell (Wayne) and predeceased by his brothers Clayton McMullin (late Josie), Robert (Moon) McMullin (late Wilma) and predeceased by his sisters Margaret Koivisto (late Onni), Enid McMullin, Miriam Pinder (late Robert), Joy Bye (late Joe), Ruth McGruer (late Thomas), Nora Kowalyk (David) and Carol McMullin. Dear brother-in-law of the late Keith Barlow (Susan), Frank Barlow (Sharon), Janet Boice (late Phil) and Joy Barlow (Dale). He will be sadly missed by many nieces and nephews.
After retiring in 1991 from the PUC, Alan enjoyed spending time with his children and their families both in Alberta and Ontario doing things such as camping, hunting, fishing or just sitting around laughing and reminiscing. He was a true handyman and jack of all trades always helping family and friends.
A special thank you goes out to the nurses and personal support workers of Peaceful Pine and the entire staff at the Algoma Manor. Their care and compassion will always be remembered.
At Alan’s request, no services will be held. Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations to the Algoma Manor would be greatly appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758).
