Obituary of Michael Colizza

It is with great sorrow that the family of Michael announces his unexpected passing on Saturday, February 24, 2024 in Playa Del Carmen, Mexico. Survived by his wife Trina, son Michael Jr and their dog Bella. Brother of Michele (Joe), Mary (Mario) and Martie (Cecilia). Uncle of Carly, Vince, Marnie, Amanda, Nico, Marlena and Joey. 

Michael passed away where he was the happiest; being in the sun, spending time walking 5th Avenue and riding his bicycle experiencing the beautiful outdoors. He enmeshed himself into Mexican culture and loved the different local cuisines. He was always interacting with the locals and feeding their dogs. Michael especially loved spending time on his balcony where he could enjoy the entertainment across the street. Just before Michael passed, Michael Jr. had the opportunity to spend two weeks with his father in Playa, which will be treasured forever. 

A special thank you goes to Jack and Maggie, Paul, Mary, Gino and Reno, Gary and Chantal, Tyler, and all of our family and friends who have supported us through this unfortunate time.

In true Michael fashion, please raise a margarita and enjoy the sunshine. A Celebration of Life will be announced at a later date. 

During this time of heartbreak, we are requesting that our privacy be respected.

Memorial donations to the Sault Ste. Marie Humane Society, where Bella was rescued from, or to the family would be appreciated.
