Obituary of Debora Haid
Peacefully at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) after a short battle with cancer on Friday, May 10, 2024. She was the only child of Rudy and Marie Acker, who will be waiting for her at the gates of heaven, along with her cherished dog Kisha. Debbie spent her early years in the Kitchener area where she built a family of friends. Upon moving to Sault Ste. Marie, it became her home. She will be deeply missed by her TD Canada Trust family and fondly remembered by her friends at Romes YIG. Debbie was loved by so many; too many to mention, however know that everyone in her life who she called friend meant the world to her. She was a kind soul who cared about everyone else before herself and no matter what was going on in her life, she always took the time to ask about other people and their families. Debbie loved animals and was an avid gardener with some of her happiest times spent caring for and watching her plants grow.
Thank you to the wonderful nurses at the Sault Area Hospital, especially in 3A and to the incredible staff and volunteers at ARCH. Special thanks to Dr. Campana, Dr. Spadafora, Dr. Sanghera, Dr. White, and Dr. Apostle.
Friends are invited to come together and honour the life of Debbie on Sunday, August 18, 2024 at the Waterfront Adventure Centre (formerly Rytac) from 12:00 p.m. until 3:00 p.m.
Memorial donations to the SAH Cancer Care Fund or ARCH would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
Rest in peace my friend.
