Debbie Sims

Obituary of Debbie Sims

It is with heavy and broken hearts that we announce the peaceful passing of our beloved Debbie at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) on Tuesday, May 14, 2024. We take great comfort knowing she is now reunited with her beloved mother, Judy. She leaves behind with profound sadness her best friend and loving husband of 37 years, Barry. Proud and loving Mom of Brittany and Jordan (Sarah). She was the adored Grammy of Lily, Emree, Keira, Averie and Easton. Her grandchildren were the lights of her life. Debbie was given the incredible gift of Lily, who was always and will forever be by her side. She was so proud to have such an amazing “little sidekick”. Daughter of Hubert Brazeau (Bev). Daughter-in-law of the late Henry and Frances Sims. Granddaughter of the late Caroline and Art Bergamin. Loving sister of Bev Brazeau, Greg Brazeau (Shaynee) and Alyson Harten (Dean). Sister in-law of Linda (Eric Astley). She will be forever remembered by her many nieces and nephews who all held a special place in her heart, especially Shelley and Joel. Dear friend of Eric and Susan Brandow. Debbie’s life was all about her family, and she will be missed more than words can express.

Debbie was a valued employee for 38 years at Community First Credit Union. She will be missed by all at the Sault Female Hockey Association where she volunteered her time and spent countless hours at the rink. Debbie always enjoyed going to her HAPPY PLACE at Cloudy Lake where she enjoyed relaxing and making so many wonderful memories with her family and friends.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Tuesday, May 21, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Mrs. Helen Smith officiating. Memorial donations to the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) would be greatly appreciated by the family. A heartfelt thank you to the entire staff at ARCH and Dr. Karen Booth for the care and compassion shown to Debbie and her family.

Love you forever, like you for always…
