Rodolphe Vallée

Obituary of Rodolphe Vallée

It is with heartfelt sorrow that we announce the passing of our husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather, Rudy. He passed away peacefully surrounded by family at the Algoma Residential Community Hospice (ARCH) on Friday, June 21, 2024 at the age of 86. Beloved husband of Desneiges Bourgeois for 65 years. Adoring father of Richard (Marie) and Lynne. Cherished grandfather of Robin (Lawra), Eric, Roc and Laurelle. Proud great grandfather of Ilan, Mabel and Winifred.

Rudy was predeceased by his parents Lucien and Edna Vallée, brother Raymond and sister Dolores. He was born in Sudbury and dedicated his life as an Educator. He was a teacher, principal, President of AEFO and Superintendent to the Ministry of Education. He made a significant impact on those he supported throughout his career. His greatest accomplishment was being a dedicated husband and a loving father to his two children Richard and Lynne and daughter-in-law Marie. He will be remembered as a brother-in-law, uncle and great uncle to many. Spending time with his family was the highlight of his life. Rudy was a dedicated Blue Jays fan and enjoyed family time gathered around watching the baseball games, as well as curling, golf, and hockey.

In keeping with Dad’s wishes, cremation has taken place and the family would like to invite everyone who knew him to a Celebration of Life on Saturday, August 10, 2024 at the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 25 – Capt. Clifford A. Healy Airforce Room (96 Great Northern Road, Sault Ste. Marie, ON) from 1:00 p.m. until 4:00 p.m.

A special thank you to the Sault Ste. Marie Physicians, Dr. Parson, Dr. J and the hospital nurses. The greatest appreciation and thank you to ARCH’s Dr. Apostle, Lisa and the entire care staff and volunteers for their kindness, understanding, warmth and compassionate care. Memorial donations made to ARCH would be greatly appreciated by the family. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758).
