Obituary of Karen Westrope

Peacefully passed away at the Sault Area Hospital on Saturday, July 27, 2024 at the age of 64. Survived by her husband of 24 years Allan Dunphy, her daughter Amanda and two grandchildren Aiden and Lilah and predeceased by Alexis. 

Karen created and moderated the Facebook groups “Sault Ste. Marie JobShop” as well as “Sault Lost and Found”. 

Karen enjoyed going to camp, riding the pontoon and spending time with close friends, Judy and Orlando at camp. Karen was a joy to be around and quick to compliment everyone around her. She had a passion for bling and sparkling things.  

Karen struggled but fought diligently for over 26 years battling several different cancers from Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma, lung and kidney cancer and squamous cell carcinoma. 

At Karen’s request, no services will take place. Cremation has taken place. Memorial donations to the Conservative Fund Canada (Conservative Party of Canada) payable by cheque only or the charity of choice would be appreciated by the family. A special thank you to the doctors, nurses and support staff at the Sault Area Hospital for the care and compassion given during Karen’s battle.
