Obituary of Philip Wood-Salomon
Surrounded by his loving family, Phil passed away peacefully at the Sault Area Hospital on Sunday, September 15, 2024 at the age of 72. Beloved husband of Theresa for 48 years. Loving father of Kevin (Nicole) and Alicia Caswell (John). Proud “Papa Phil” of Carina, Jack and now reunited with his two precious angels Somia and Mataia. Son of the late Eileen and the late James Wood-Salomon. Brother of James (Zoey), Dawn Ellis (late Austin), Angus (Judith), Heather (Linda), Joan Thibodeau (Marc), Yvonne and Sharon Wood-Anderson (Dean). Son-in-law of the late Reno and the late Enes Mazzer. Brother-in-law of Ronnie and Maria Mazzer. Philip will be dearly missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends.
Philip’s career encompassed over 40 years working at Algoma Steel in the Concast, Heat Treat, and Main Lab departments. Philip enjoyed spending much of his time with family and friends. Football Sundays were always extra special as he loved to watch the Green Bay Packers games alongside his wife and kids. Philip had a great passion for cooking, and he meticulously loved tending to his lawn and garden care.
Family and friends are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Friday, September 20, 2024 from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service in the Chapel at 1:00 p.m. with Rev. Helen Smith officiating. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Sault Area Hospital Critical Care Fund or to the charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
