Obituary of Antonio Carpinelli

It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Tony on Thursday, October 10, 2024 at the Sault Area Hospital surrounded by family while listening to his favourite Italian music.

He is survived by his beloved wife of 52 years, Yolanda.  Cherished father of Christopher (Toni), Joanna (Donald) and Gregory (Shauna). Loving Nonno of Nathaniel, Bennett, Justina, Gemma, Roman and Kolton. Precious son of the late Lucio and the late Giovanna Carpinelli. Dear son-in-law of the late Natale and the late Carmela Spadafora. Brother-in-law of Maria Coccimiglio (late Gino), Tony Spadafora (Rosetta) and Luigi Spadafora (Clara). Brother of Carmen (Dora). Devoted Zio of Rick (Lisa), Gino, Natalie, Nicholas, Matthew, Maria, Ada, Gianluca and Giancarlo.

Born in Italy, July 9, 1948, Tony immigrated to Canada in December 1967. Tony was a masterful and artistic Carpenter whose reputation for honesty, passion, pride and attention to detail was legendary. The energy he gave his work, he gave doubly to his Family – especially to his grandchildren.  It was with them that he was his kindest and most generous self.  He marvelled in their wit, humour, intelligence and cherished every moment with them, as they did with him. 

The family would like to thank Tony’s entire medical team with a special thanks to Dr. Jarrett for the years of care he provided.  The family would also like to extend their sincerest gratitude to the staff of 3B & 3C at the SAH with special thanks to the care given by Sara and Marina.

In keeping with Tony’s wishes, a private family service has been held. Memorial donations to the SAH Cancer Care Fund or a charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
