Obituary of June Gillgrass

Peacefully passed away at home with her family by her side on Sunday, October 20, 2024 at the age of 99. Beloved wife of the late George Coutu Jr. (1971) and the late Bill Gillgrass (1989). Dearly loved mother of Greg Coutu (Carol), Jeff Coutu (Karen) and Carolyn Lucente (John). Loving and proud grandmother of Chris Coutu (Wanda), Jennifer Steinmoeller (Derek), Matthew Coutu (Joyce), James Coutu, Emily Coutu, Candice Gouge and Adam Gouge. Great grandmother of Caelan & Conner Coutu, Aria & Emilia Steinmoeller, Francis & River Coutu and Desiree Woods. Predeceased by her parents Peter and Julia Cote. Youngest sibling of the late Wilbert, late Howard and the late Lucille. Aunt of Peter (Sheila), Dorothy, Rick (Linda) and the late Ron.

June poured her heart and soul into her family. Every meal she cooked, every moment she spent with them was filled with love and devotion. Whether it was planning birthday parties, helping with homework, or simply sharing quiet evenings together, her family's happiness was her greatest joy. They were her reason for being and her source of strength and inspiration. Through life's challenges, it was the bonds they shared that kept her grounded and fulfilled.

Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758) on Monday, October 28, 2024 from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. A Memorial Mass will be held at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church on Tuesday, October 29, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Michael Omojola officiating. Inurnment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial donations to the Charity of your choice would be greatly appreciated by the family.
