Elvira DiPasquale

Obituary of Elvira DiPasquale

Passed away peacefully with family by her side at the Sault Area Hospital on Sunday, November 10, 2024 at age 102.  She is now reunited with her beloved husband Gino “Tuffy”.  Loving mother of Jean Slobodecki (John). Cherished grandmother of Marcie Slobodecki and Melissa MacKinnon (Ben). Daughter of the late Antonio and the late Luigella Cornacchio. Sister of the late Emilio (Yula), Mini Offidani (Vito), Gino (Jean), twin brother Alfred (Margaret), Florence Toteff (Tony), Peter (Rita). Predeceased by her father-in-law and mother-in-law, Ralph and Pompelia DiPasquale. “Auntie El” will be fondly remembered by her many nieces, nephews, cousins, friends and neighbours.

She was a strong, determined, independent individual who was selfless, always putting all others ahead of herself. Her belief and faith in God were evident, attending mass when able, always with a rosary in hand.  Her granddaughters were very dear to her heart.  Her greatest joy was seeing them happy.

Friends and family are invited to attend a Memorial Mass at Precious Blood Cathedral on Thursday, November 21, 2024 at 11:00 a.m. with Father Jeff Shannon officiating. Inurnment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial donations to Precious Blood Cathedral or the charity of your choice would be appreciated.

Thank you to Dr. Ladak, Dr. Ratelle and nurse Megan at the SAH Emergency Department for your care and compassion. A heartfelt thank you to Father Jeff Shannon for the comfort he was able to give Elvira in her final moments. Thank you to nurse Tina (GHC) and nurses Rochelle and Dawn (Bayshore) for your home visits.

Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).

Those we love don’t go away; they walk beside us every day. Unseen, unheard, but always near.
Still loved, sill missed, and very dear.”
