Obituary of Anthony John Guerriero
With broken hearts, we regret to announce the passing of our father, Tony, at the FJ Davey Home on Monday, November 18, 2024 in his 94th year. He is now reunited with the love of his life and soulmate of 64 years, Gail. Treasured father of Clara Robinson (Bob), Renee Erhardt (late Billy Lethbridge and the late Karl Erhardt), Frankie Guerriero and the late Anthony Guy. Proud grandfather of Guy’s children: Tina Guerriero, late Keith Guerriero and Dawn Guerriero-Piche; Clara’s daughter: Melissa Pauze (Rob); Renee’s son: Greig Lethbridge; and Renee’s step-children: Melissa (Matt), Patrick, Karl Junior (Sharon), Barbara (Bill) and Sheena. Predeceased by his parents Frank (1904-1991) and Mary Guerriero (1909-1997) and his brother Peter Guerriero (Laura) and his sisters Saverina Guerriero, Clara Detloff (Jerry), Patsy Bane (Jim) and our beautiful angel Shirley-Ann Guerriero. Dad was blessed to be raised with his niece Maria Bock and his nephew Frank Bock, but in our family’s eyes, they are also his brother and sister. He will be fondly remembered by his many great grandchildren, nieces, nephews and extended family.
Tony started working for the City of Sault Ste. Marie Board of Works as a Lead Hand Driver at the tender age of 16. He took an early retirement and moved to Dundas, Ontario but returned a few years later to be with his family. Dad loved playing darts, bowling and was a coach of the CUPE baseball team back in the day. He also loved seeing his friends at the casino.
At Tony’s request, there will be no services. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. Or if you would like to help Clara with her fight against Elephantiasis Lymphedema, please contact her.
A very special thank you to our cousin Maria Bock who helped take care of our dad from the very start of his illness. We are so very thankful that their bond was so strong. Please remember Maria, our love goes on and we will all be together again someday. A heartfelt thank you to dad’s doctor at the Davey Home, Dr. Parent. He was also in constant contact with the family, and we are so thankful for the respect and compassion he gave us.
Dad was our social butterfly and loved to joke. He will be missed by many. The family would love for you to share your photos and memories of Tony. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
We love you dad! You are gone but never forgotten.
