We mourn the passing of our dear friend, Olive, but celebrate her reunion with Basil. Olive embodied LOVE to many people-both strangers and family alike. Judy and I first met Olive on a frigid rainy day in late 1995 when we stumbled out of the woods, half frozen, behind the "Shack" (Basil and Olive's camp). Olive saw how miserable we were and without hesitation invited us into camp to warm up and made us tea and coffee cake. We were total strangers to Basil and Olive at this point but that didn't deter Olivie from treating us like life long friends or family. Our love and respect for Olive continued to grow as we watched she and Basil raise "the boys" (Robbie and Scotty) there at camp which became their home away from home. Basil and Olive inspired us one early spring by hiking into camp through about 18" of snow just to have a quiet lunch together at camp. This was when they were in their 70's We always learned much and felt welcomed into the Black/Jones family as we sat and visited on the porch there at camp. Olive is the last of her generation there at camp and she will be missed but it warms our heart to see Robbie continuing the legacy left by Grandma and Grandpa with his children.
