Obituary of John Gray

GRAY, John E. "A mighty wind blew night and day. It stole the oak tree's leaves away. Then snapped its boughs and pulled its bark; Until the oak was tired and stark." John passed peacefully at ARCH, with his family at his side, on Monday, September 2nd in his 78th year. He leaves his loving memories to be cherished by his wife of 52 years, Gail, daughter, Stephanie (Rick), son Russell (Catherine), grandchildren, Brenna and Garreth, his sister Muriel, sister-in-law (SIL), Heather and several nieces and nephews. Predeceased by his parents Marven and Annie , and his sister Margaret Rose. John will be remembered for his wit, dry sense of humour, love of animals and nature and his straight forward and honest approach to life. He will be missed much more than he ever would have imagined by so many of us. The LA Dodgers and the Maple Leafs have lost a life-long fan. We wish to extend our heartfelt thanks and appreciation to family, our many wonderful friends, Lisa R., CCAC, Cindy & Leah at Bayshore, We Care, and the attentive staff and volunteers at ARCH for each and every act of kindness, comfort and tremendous support shown us during John's illness. As per John's wishes, cremation has taken place. The family would be pleased to welcome friends to an informal reception in celebration of John's memory at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation & Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) in the Reception Centre on Friday, September 6th from 5-8 p.m.
