I just found out today of the passing of a leader, mentor, colleague, and a friend. I have known Manni since 1979 when I was a young cadet of 155. As I grew and matured he was there as a leader and mentor. He was honest and blunt in between all those certs. We thought he had shares in the company. When I was Chief of 155 RC Air Cadet Squadron, he provided great leadership and guidence. He was a man who was truly there for the "Cadets". My prayers to you and your family. You will be missed. Cheers. Your Cadet Ex 155 WO1 Collin Scott.

Thank you for being my friend and my mentor, way back in the day when we first met in Trenton at summer camp. I was young and naïve and thought I knew it all, you quickly corrected me and always believed in me. I used to love your visits to Kitchener, we always managed to find a way to connect if even for a short time. You had a good sense of humour and were a kind man. I will miss you dearly but am thankful to have been blessed with knowing you. Love your kiddo Julie

Very surprised to hear of Mani Storch's passing and have a heavy heart. He was commander of 155 Squadron when I was a young man and part of the cadet corp, an excellent role model, man and friend. RIP Mani you will be missed very much.

Marg and I were newly married and decided to take Manfred on a ride to St. Joseph Island when there was still a ferry. It was fun to speed up and down the gravel roads and hills. All were laughing which suddenly turned to coughing from the back seat from which emanated a cloud of dust.
We forgot the holes in the floorboards and Manni, a true trooper laughed as lond as he could until he was encased in mother earth so to speak. I believe the car was a Metropolitan then.

Manni, you will always be a light in my life as we have known each other so long thru many stages. You are my half brother so to speak. Your smile will be remembered and cherished. You have a son like I do to carry on the name. Blessed as we were in life let's hope in the hereafter we do not have to fight for our place as well! My mother Maria will give you your wings as you enter her domain!

My heart is breaking at the loss of an old friend Mani and I have been friends for 50 years. I met this great guy when I moved out to killarney road and we both ended up back here in our later years. I will miss his friendly smile and our exchanges when we would run into each other on the street. My deepest sympathy to his family he will truly be missed

Condolences to his family and my friends. I have known Manfred since he was 16 and since I am seventy that is along time. He was always there at my family functions such as birthdays and anniversaries. A smile on his face and twinkle in his eye indicating that he knew something we did not. Too bad you did not get to the luxury of retirement my friend as you would have enjoyed the freedom of living. I will miss you and become scared of my own mortality.

Sir I miss you all ready. I remember all the times at cadets with you. Like when you hit me in the head with a log my first year or being one of the judges my first and only drill competition. I will miss your hugs most of all. I can't believe your really gone. To your family I am so sorry that he is gone. He was a great man that worked hard for all the kids in cadets. So many camps I got to go to just because of him. Love you always Sir.

RCSCC Royal Sovereign shares in this great loss and extend our condolences to his family and friends. To honour Mani's committment to the Canadian Cadet Movement, we lowered the flag to halfmast at Colours this evening and bowed our heads for a minute of reflection. On a personal note, Mani was an inspiration to me and I greatly valued his friendship, wisdom and guidance over the years. I have known him since he and Hank were Navy League officers when I joined NLCC Newman in 1970. It was a privilege and an honour to have served with him in the CIC. RIP, my friend!

This unexpected loss has me stunned. Mani was the very definition of service, devoting his life to the development of the Soo's youth; and he found so much joy in it. His guidance to me and so many others of the 155 has stayed with me during 32 years of Canadian Armed Forces Service. My deepest sympathies and condolences to the family.

My sincere condolences to Matt and Gillian and Hank and Joanna and family. I am deeply saddened by the passing of my dear friend. Mani took me under his wing at the age of 17 and guided me through my cadets years. He looked after all of the chiefs in the squadron and mentored many more after I left the 155. He was a gift to all the youth in the cadet movement. May he rest in peace and may the roses bloom in his honour.

I have a lump in my throat and an ache in my heart as I try to understand all of this. Your leadership, mentorship, passion for youth and strong sense of community will be your legacy. Hank and Johanna, I'm truly sorry for your loss. You know as well as I that there is comfort in knowing of the many young cadets that Mani considered his 'other family', and whose lives were bettered because of his devotion to ensuring they got the most out of the cadet program. Per Ardua ad Astra.
