Obituary of Sonja Bedell

BEDELL, Sonja Doreen (née Buczel). (February 1, 1966 - August 1, 2014) Peacefully, though suddenly, in her sleep with her cat Wellington by her side on Friday, August 1, 2014 at the age of 48. Loving wife of Fredrick Bedell Jr. and fiercely proud, loving mother and best friend of Lucas and daughter-in-law Megan and will be forever missed by all three. Daughter of the late Harry & late Helga Buczel and daughter-in-law of Elizabeth 'Betty' Bedell (late Fredrick Sr.). Pet-grandmother to Nerm, Bo, and Elsa. Sister to Rolly Buczel (Anne), Vince Buczel (Patricia), and Richard Buczel. Special friend to Sara Grisdale and Tina Godin-Hiscock. Survived by many nieces and nephews in Canada as well as family in Germany. Sonja moved from Wawa, ON to Sault Ste. Marie, ON in 1967 with her family where she would later begin her own family. She enjoyed her pets, her plants and her people, often travelling with her husband to southern Ontario to visit their son and daughter-in-law. Sonja will be dearly missed by all friends and family, and they may call for visitation at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road 705-945-7758) on Friday, August 8th from 11am- 12:30pm. Funeral mass to follow at 1:00 p.m. at St. Gerard Majella (211 Pentagon Blvd.) with Father Francis Ezenezi officiating. Cremation to follow.
