Obituary of Lina Fabiano

On April 26th at the Ontario Finnish Resthome with her family at her side in her 83rd year. Beloved wife and "hunny bunny" of Pietro for 58 years. Loving mother of Mariella Hales (Colin) and Nick Fabiano (Jani). Proud, dedicated and loving Nonna to the joys of her life; Jessica Hales, Justin Hales (Jessica Sdao), Christopher Hales (Brittany McClelland), and Jonah and Laura Fabiano. Dear sister of Guiseppe, Franco, Anna, Caterina Cortese and Maria Cangemi (late Guiseppe) all of Italy. Sister-in-law of Grazia Gulli (late Graziano), the late Francesco Fabiano (Maria) (late Barbara), late Liberata Pitaro (late Antonio), Caterina Gulli (late Vito), Concetta Pitaro (Giuseppi). Zia to many nieces and nephews. Friends may call at the Northwood Funeral Home and Cremation Centre on Wednesday, April 29, 2015 from 11:30 a.m. until funeral service at 1:00 p.m. with Father Veselko Kvesic officiating. Entombment at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery Mausoleum. Memorial donations may be made to the Ontario Finnish Resthome Association or to Dying with Dignity Canada. A special thank you to Dr. Fera and his staff for years of care, and to Brenda Paat, NP at the Finnish Resthome. Our deepest gratitude to Zia Grazia for being there with us quietly sitting day in, day out with tender words, and heartfelt hugs as we watched our mom during this difficult time. To the staff of the Ontario Finnish Resthome - there are no words to express our deepest appreciation for your loving care, support and compassion. You gave our mom a second home where she was truly loved and cared for as her dementia took her further and further away from us and softened the pain as we watched her suffer from life with us to a life ever after with her God. The extraordinary care, dignity, courtesy, compassion and tenderness shown not only by the front line nursing staff, but the entire staff from management, maintenance, housekeeping and kitchen was truly remarkable and beyond one's expectations. We will be eternally grateful.
