To the Marques family;
I am truly saddened to hear that Mr. Marques has moved on.
I genuinely enjoyed his company while growing up. Mr. Marques was one of the few adults that took the time to give a kid a smile and a remark or joke. Get togethers with him in your home or ours or at functions were always fun filled affairs full of merriment, laughter and story telling. My dad greatly respected him and cherished their friendship. It was difficult for dad to move away from the Sault; difficult to forge new friendships with good, genuine, selfless people like Mr. Marques.
Upon reflection, I recollect always having fondly thought of Mr. Marques; a man far beyond his years, one who should have grown up in this era with the many possibilities afforded in Canada to individuals from both scholastic and professional perspectives. As a very intelligent individual, I well imagine what he would have accomplished.
I am aware that my mother and sister have expressed their condolences however I felt compelled to offer my own. Please accept my heartfelt condolences on behalf of myself and my father. Though no longer with us, I hear dad asking me to express........that he is not alone. Many of Mr. Marques friends await him so that they may continue to have fun together in their next chapter.
We will not be with you in the Sault in person, however; you are in our thoughts and prayers.
With deepest regrets,
Filipe Amorim
