Obituary of David Marques

It is with deep sorrow that we announce the sudden passing of David Marques. Husband of Prazeres, Father of Aida (Tom) and Debbie (Carlos), Grandfather of Krystle (Jamie), Roberto (Odette), Christopher and Brandon and Great-Grandfather of Cristiano and Lillian.  David is predeceased by his two Brothers Antonio (Otilia), Manuel (Helena) and his Sister Lisdalia and Brother-in-law Jose.

David ended his days in Hamilton, Ontario in the company of his family, but his heart remained in Sault Ste. Marie, where he nurtured so many long-lasting relationships. He was always ready to lend a helping hand to a friend in need. Proud of his heritage and wanting to bringing a little bit of Portugal to the Soo, he was a part of the creation of the Portuguese Community organization and the Portuguese School for children.  This hard-working man was proud of his accomplishments and was well-respected by all who knew him.

David, you have left your mark on the world and you will be missed.  It is time take some well-deserved rest in your beloved Sault Ste Marie. Friends and family are invited to visit at Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Road, 705-945-7758) on Tuesday, August 14, 2018 from 11:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will follow at 2:00 p.m. at Our Lady of Good Counsel Church with Father Paul Conway officiating. Entombment to follow at Holy Sepulchre Cemetery. Memorial donations can be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
