So sorry, Bob and Judith, to hear of your dad’s passing.
We met a couple of times at family events but you likely don’t remember me.
I met Harvey when he was the information officer at the Etobicoke Board of Education and I covered education for the Etobicoke Guardian. We struck up a friendship that endured over the years. Harvey was instrumental in getting me into the Sun and I will always be grateful for his support and belief in me.
Your dad was a wonderful man who was intelligent, kind and generous. My former husband and I spent a weekend with him at Lake Josephine after the passing of your lovely mom and it was there that I developed an understanding of his love of nature and the outdoors.
No one could tell a story like your dad, complete with his quick wit and sense of humour. I loved hearing his tales about the Tely newsroom in the good old days.
Harvey spoke often and affectionately of you both, your spouses and grandchildren. After giving birth to my two children, your dad told me that I was in for the best years of my life. That was an obvious throwback to the years he cherished with you both and his beloved Josephine.
My deepest heart-felt condolences to you and your own families. God bless you now in your time of mourning and in the future.
