Mary was a bright light who was way ahead of her time. Many know her as being very intelligent and street smart - she liked to say, "I'm fourba you know." She was so strong and stalwart in so many ways yet soft, kind, and immensely vulnerable. More than anything, she was gentle and forgiving and loved people unconditionally. She always reminded me she was living in a state of grace. Mary's known for different things to different people but others have also reminded me about her love of the sunsets from her cottage on Lake Superior, as one of the oldest ski instructors at Searchmont as well as one of the original chalet owners out there, and overall just a great lady. She loved so many people, and especially her "Adonis," Lyla, and Vera. My mom and I had a close relationship and I'm most remember how we'd start laughing (over something silly or ridiculous) and not be able to stop. That happened often. We'll miss her witty one-liners and her famous "anybody home," and "something smells delicious," but most of all we'll miss her ever-loving presence.
