Obituary of Mary A. Bullock
Please share a memory of Mary to include in a keepsake book for family and friends.
We are heartbroken to announce the passing of our dear Mary on Wednesday, September 30, 2020 at the age of 91. Born in Sault Ste. Marie on September 11, 1929. Wife of the late Henry Bullock. Cherished mother of Tiffany (James), Darcie (Blaine), and Andrea (Perrick). Gramma of Sara (Ryan) and Parker; Ryan and Elisa (Paul), and Alexi. Cherished Mimi to Lyla and Gigi to Vera, who she absolutely loved with all her heart. Sister of the late Josephine Ubriaco, late Johnny Ubriaco (late Cora), Doreen Maciuk (late Jim) and Gene Ubriaco (Nella). Mary was well-read and knowledgeable about virtually any topic. She loved playing bridge with her group of friends and later on the computer, listening to opera, watching the latest news and political happenings, learning about history and languages, and watching foreign movies. She was an interesting lady who loved a great conversation. Mary also loved to reminisce about the good old days in the west end and could name every family, describing them in detail, and had an abundance of funny stories to share. She was proud of her Italian heritage and her family. In her younger days Mary was often chosen in her class to attend special events including a trip to Sudbury to see the King and Queen, and to Florida with the nuns. She attended Sault Collegiate and was a proud Wild Cat. Mary attended post-secondary in Toronto where she became a Lab Technologist and worked in the hospitals and then with Abitibi Research. In her youth, she was an avid skier, hiker, golfer, and tennis player and often spoke about the fun she had at the Boat Club in her younger days. As per Mary’s wishes, a celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial contributions to the charity of your choice would be appreciated. A special thank you to the Sault Ste. Marie Paramedics, Sault Area Hospital ER doctors, nurses and staff for their effort and compassion. Arrangements entrusted to Northwood Funeral Home Cremation and Reception Centre (942 Great Northern Rd, 705-945-7758).
