Obituary of Anne McMillan MacGregor
Passed away peacefully in her sleep on Tuesday, August 3, 2021 at the age of 81. Anne was born in Glasgow, Scotland, on January 6, 1940, to William and Henrietta McKerlie. She departed Glasgow at the age of 22 to visit Canada for a six-month adventure. Meeting Robert MacGregor during this time, they were married on September 21, 1968, and she remained in Algoma for 53 years, having three children, Catherine, Colin, and Andrew. She worked as a secretary for Algoma Steel in her early days in the Sault and eventually retired, in 2003, as Corporate Secretary for Great Lakes Power. Active in the community, she volunteered at the Municipal Heritage Committee and Algoma Residential Community Hospice. Anne was a great reader and loved to spend time at the family cottage on St. Joseph’s Island. She was an enormously proud grandmother to Emily, Aydan, Torie, and Leah.
