It is with great sadness that I learned that my dear brother Manfred has passed away.
I send my deepest sympathy and sincere condolences to Ruth and family.
I have many memories of Manfred. For example, the following story comes to my mind:
It was shortly after the war. We were still children. One evening he came home from his grandmother's house, where he had already eaten dinner. Our mother and the other five children were still eating.
Manfred was a tall, lanky boy who always was hungry. So, he took a plate and asked each of his siblings to give him some of their food. In the end, he had more on his plate than we did. He said he was so lucky to have his family.
I will light a candle for you. I miss you so much, dear brother.
Your sister Monika Wichmann (née Beinicke) and family from Dessau-Roßlau (Germany).
