Bob with my dad Floyd and a funny picture of Bob at the funeral of Roger Rice (Dale's husband and Bob's sister). I was just talking to my Aunt Dale the other day and wondered how my Uncle Bob was and where he was. Sorry to hear of his passing!
Both Barnes families and the Rice family used to get together (5 kids in each family - a BIG crowd!), when we were growing up in Ontario, and we had lots of great times and memories! We would go to Lake Chemung, near Peterborough, where Grandma Barnes lived and have fun at her lake house (Bob's mother). We also had many a Thanksgiving meal there and I remember that Uncle Bob always had to have a slice of cheese with his apple pie! We also went to his farm and had a good time playing baseball in the barn and other things with his five kids. Once some of my family moved down to Virginia Beach we didn't see each other very often unless we were back up in Ontario where we got to see some to the Rice clan along with one of my sister's and her family in London.
Here's an early picture of Bob and Ann with 4 of the 5 kids (in the 60s) and another one at Grandma Barnes' cottage with Robert and family, Dale's family (Rice), and Floyd's family altogether at Thanksgiving in 1975!
