The memories of Zia Nina are bathed in the warmth of summer and the happiness of family. Our beach trips were marked by the Zios grilling hotdogs, cousins playing together, and Zias sharing conversations filled with laughter and love.
Zia had a way of making everyone feel special, no matter how many people were around. Her generosity knew no bounds, always making sure everyone had enough to eat, often insisting you take a little more, even when you were already full.
Evenings were a different kind of magic, with dinners that stretched long into the night. Plates of pasta, fresh salads, and desserts that never seemed to end. But it wasn’t just the food; it was the way Zia Nina brought everyone together, her laughter filling the spaces between stories and her kindness wrapping around us like a warm blanket. She loved with a love that was boundless, accepting everyone just as they were.
Now, she’s in her forever home, embraced by God’s love, where she surely continues to spread warmth and joy. Though she is gone from our sight, the memories of those summers, those meals, and those hugs are treasures that will last a lifetime. One day, we’ll see her again, and until then, we’ll carry her spirit in our hearts, remembering her as one of the most loving, generous Zia anyone could ask for. We are so blessed to have all the Sault Ste Marie memories with all of our Zias and we will cherish them.
